Core Technology Services
The core technology services include the technological infrastructure of the KSL that allow the day-to-day business of the libraries to occur:
- The INNOPAC integrated library system (which supports the library catalog, acquisitions, cataloging, journal check-in, circulation, and materials budget financial functions)
- ILLiad interlibrary loan system (which supports real-time feedback to customers about their interlibrary loan requests)
- Library web site (which delivers the electronic database and full text resources, as well as vital information about the libraries)
- Support of the Freedman Center and KSL’s classrooms’ hardware and software environment
- Support of desktop PC and public workstations and associated printing functions in the libraries
- The following specialized applications:
1. Web Content Manager
2. CaseLearns
3. Web Survey Application
4. Research Database Application
5. RSS Feeds
6. Reference Applications
7. Video/DVD/New Books Search Interface
8. Digital Case Implementation – Fedora & various components
These core services receive the highest level of support from the Technology Team, because they are of vital importance to the operation of the library. The KSL Technology Team manages the INNOPAC on behalf of all Case libraries, as well as the associated libraries of the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Art, and the Siegal College of Judaic Studies. The library web site delivers electronic databases and full text resources for all campus libraries. The KSL Technology Team provides desktop support only for the Kelvin Smith Library; however, Technology Team staff members are frequently consulted by other Case libraries to assist in problem solving.
